The Next Chapter: Building a Life Beyond Substance Use

The Next Chapter is offered through a collaboration between The Recovery Collective Saskatchewan and Wolf Willow Counselling. Together, we’re bringing our experience and shared commitment to recovery into a supportive, online therapeutic group where adults can strengthen their recovery, develop practical skills, and build a meaningful life beyond substance use.

The 6-Week Journey

Week 1: Connection, Safety and Your Recovery Journey

Begin building connections within the group, explore what recovery means to you, and identify personal strengths and intentions for the weeks ahead.

Week 2: Understanding Patterns, Triggers and Vulnerability

Explore triggers, stress, cravings, and situations that can make recovery more challenging. Begin recognizing patterns with curiosity rather than shame.

Week 3: Emotional Regulation, Cravings and Distress Tolerance

Develop practical ways to navigate difficult emotions, urges, and discomfort using coping strategies, mindfulness, and grounding.

Week 4: Relationships, Boundaries and Recovery Connection

Explore supportive relationships, communication, boundaries, loneliness, and asking for help. Consider how connection can support recovery.

Week 5: Building a Meaningful Life and Sustaining Recovery

Reflect on identity, personal values, and purpose beyond substance use. Identify meaningful activities, supportive routines, and strategies for maintaining recovery.

Week 6: Navigating the Holidays and Protecting Your Recovery

Prepare for holiday stressors, social pressure, family dynamics, and disrupted routines. Develop a personalized plan for navigating challenges while protecting recovery and making room for connection and joy.
