Understanding Our Adult ADHD Screening

Our Adult ADHD Screening is a comprehensive, evidence-informed assessment designed to help you better understand whether your symptoms are consistent with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The process explores your current concerns, developmental history, and the impact your symptoms may be having on your work, education, relationships, and everyday life.

At Wolf Willow Counselling, we use standardized assessment measures recommended by the Canadian ADHD Resource Alliance (CADDRA). These evidence-based screening tools are widely used by physicians, nurse practitioners, psychiatrists, psychologists, and other qualified healthcare professionals across Canada as part of the ADHD assessment process.

Your screening includes a detailed clinical interview, standardized questionnaires, functional impairment measures, and a personalized interpretation of your results. Once completed, you will receive a comprehensive written report outlining your findings, highlighting your strengths and challenges, and providing individualized recommendations for next steps.

Is This a Diagnosis?

No. An Adult ADHD Screening is not a formal medical diagnosis of ADHD.

While the assessment provides valuable clinical information and identifies whether your symptoms are consistent with ADHD, a diagnosis can only be made by a qualified healthcare professional who is authorized to diagnose medical conditions within their professional scope of practice, such as a physician, nurse practitioner, psychologist (where permitted), or psychiatrist.

How Can This Assessment Help?

Many clients find that a comprehensive screening provides clarity and direction, even before pursuing a formal diagnosis. Your report can help you:

  • Gain a better understanding of your symptoms and how they affect daily life.

  • Identify patterns of executive functioning strengths and challenges.

  • Learn practical recommendations and strategies tailored to your needs.

  • Discuss your results with your family physician, nurse practitioner, or psychiatrist.

  • Support conversations about whether additional assessment, treatment, workplace accommodations, or educational supports may be beneficial.

Our goal is to provide you with a thorough, compassionate, and evidence-based assessment that empowers you to better understand your brain and make informed decisions about your next steps. Whether your journey leads to a formal diagnosis or simply greater self-awareness, we are here to support you with knowledge, practical strategies, and personalized care every step of the way.
